Looking for financial advice as we come out of lockdown?
Managing Director of Flagstone, John Lineham and Regional Director of Beresfords Estate Agents, Mark Lawrinson were recently asked to speak to Brentwood and Billericay radio station, Phoenix FM.
In light of the property market returning to a new kind of normality, Phoenix FM spoke to professionals in the housing market to find out what financial advice they would recommend following after lockdown.
In the interview with John, host Mikey asked questions about how easy it is to get a mortgage during this time and what advice he would give to first time buyers. John said that interest rates are so low at the minute and people are pleasantly surprised by the repayments. He also said the best advice he could give would be for those looking to get a mortgage to be prepared and to have looked into what documentation they will need to secure a mortgage. He said that it can be disappointing when people have their heart set on a property but then later find out they can’t get a mortgage on that particular place. This is why it’s important to do the research and find out exactly what you’re eligible for, before you find the place of your dreams.
In Mark’s interview, Mikey asked Mark about what changes he’s seen in the property market since the lockdown and now since things are back up and running. Mark talks about how the market has been busy with people keen to be moving again. He also emphasises that many people’s values have changed and people are now considering the area they’re moving to and what green space is nearby when buying a property.
